The Restoration of Scottsdale's Cowboy Mural

Old Town Scottsdale Cowboy Sign

Scottsdale’s iconic cowboy sign was recently refurbished, giving it new life but preserving its historical likeness from the 60s. The Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce commissioned artist Dee Flag to paint the original sign in 1952. It is still in its original location at the intersection of Main Street and Scottsdale Road. The “cowboy” is a popular place for photos.

While initially a center of commerce and tourism in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Old Town Scottsdale continues to be a popular destination known for its charming, Western-style architecture and vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, art galleries, and nightlife venues.

Old Town is home to many historical buildings and landmarks, including the iconic cowboy sign. Art walks, rodeos, and cultural celebrations take place in Old Town throughout the year, making it a lively and exciting place to visit and explore.
